I don't know if anyone saw it on Motorway Cops last night but there was a 93 year old man obliviously driving the wrong way down the motorway until police pulled him over.

At 70 you have to re-apply for your licence but don't you think there should be another test, maybe at 75?

I have been the near victim of completely unaware/oblivious (very) elderly drivers, they can sometimes be worse than boy racers.

Yes saw it, the funniest bit was when he was in the back of the police car trying to chat up the minger of a police woman

The problem is not that they are old drivers......but the current batch of over 70 year olds probably never sat a driving test to start with......and when they started driving the cars couldn't go faster than 40mph.

I'm sure that by the time you reach 70 Jonny you'll be a better driver............I hope

I you have an over 70 parent have you tried to tell them they shouldn't be driving? I can assure that it is incredibly difficult trying to tell somebody that they USED to be a very good driver but their reactions have become too slow and they are a danger to other road users. It will happen to us all one day.

Living in a rural area with lots of wealthy retired who have moved out from town to retire and continue to drive well passed their "give up" date because they don't want to use the excellent (and for them FREE) public transport we have in this area, I partly blame local GP's who continue to sign them off as suitable to be driving on local roads without realising that they are approving them to drive anywhere. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
