United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Thought i'd post my experience here on this as i now know it works after a few miles.

Low expectations turned out to be unfounded! This was almost straight forward Very Happy

So i had the masses fitted to my vehicle and popped around the block to try it - massive improvement but still there slightly so i gave them the keys back and asked them if they could try and get rid of it completely - although to be honest i was already happy - pushing my luck may be but 4 sets of DR bushes and a DR actuator had gone into land fill up till now so i was keen!

They had the car for another day and fixed it:

I was armed with alot of info from here to ask questions:

I asked was it bushes (again) - they said they had checked them and no, not bushes, new DR bushes make it better temporarily not permanently, they do not knock they "transmit knock" into the car. WHAT A SUPRISE - SURELY THE FACT THAT THEY'VE CHANGED DR BUSHES 4 TIMES BEFORE WOULD SAY THAT ITS NOT BUSHES THATS CAUSING THE PROBLEM!!!

I asked was it the small body dampers - they said they had removed them but the dampers dont knock they "transmit knock" into the car.

I asked was it the DR system - they said no, the DR system was fine it doesnt generate this bumpy road knocking noise only the one where you turn the wheel left to right quickly will be heard. (although to be fair that has improved now as well). - SO WHY HAVE I HAD A NEW ACTUATOR - OH I KNOW.. IT COMES WITH NEW BUSHES WHICH MAKES IT GOOD TEMPORARILY. - DOH

I asked was it ball joints - they said they had changed the ball joints as my car had the smaller diameter old versions and they were suspect. - HOW THEY MISSED THIS THE LAST 4 TIMES I DONT KNOW!

They had checked lots of other stuff as well, but basically just put on new ball joints and the masses and removed the small body dampers. Voila!!!! Gone Very Happy 3500 MILES AND STILL NO NOISES.

He did say their understanding of this issue had got better as more info has come out of LR.

So i've come up with an instruction manual for the LR dealers so they can get up to the level of mine.

1) DO Take off small front body dampers by the chassis mount.
2) DO Fit mass dampers to chassis frame.
3) DO Change lower front ball joints
4) DO check nut torques and control arm bushes, drop links etc in LTB00204v4.

5) DO NOT change DR bushes unless you want customers to come back in 2 months with the same problem.
6) DO NOT change countless other components and fit the new ones incorrectly causing a magnitude of other issues that are completely un-related.
7) DO NOT use the last version of the bulletin or some other one thats close in number, or try to remember whats in it. USE THE RIGHT ONE AND READ IT. Thumbs Up

DO ALL THIS AND YOU WILL MAKE US ALL AS HAPPY AS ME!!! Trust me, i'm an Engineer!

Bow down many thanks Bobby.. my vehicle is a standard 2.7TD without dynamic response, so if you have LTB00123v4 that would be appreciated.
