United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Due to change my Sport but i'm reluctant! 2010 MY questions

I love my 56 plate HSE very much!! My dilemma is that I am overdue a change as we change our company cars every 3 years, mine is over a year out of warranty and it now has 66k, rising rapidly. I would have nothing other than another sport and I would want another black one and I would want it to look exatly like my current one, this is why I guess I have been putting it off. I guess I could keep it and run it into the ground until the release a new sport but that could be 5 years away! It would then be a huge difference in value to buy a new one by then.
Last week I tried a new sport for the day (V6 HSE 2010). Yes it was good, but not that much better than mine, didn't like the silly clock in the centre of the dashboard, looked like they pulled it out of an allegro or similar, found it bouncy, If I went over speed humps it almost bounced 3 times before it settled down, I guess they’ve softened the suspension.
I never buy brand new as I can't watch it depreciate that heavily in the 1st year, too depressing! I would be spending around £45-£48k. I have a few questions though.

1. Why do they all seem to have the pale wood colour inside? I want black or silver trim with black leather but seem hard to find, prefer the shiny black trim.

2. Is it just me or have others noticed how bouncy the new one is? The one I tried had 20 inch wheels and all the settings were as the should be.

3. I have the factory rear seat entertainment which is great, there don’t seem to be any new Sports with it fitted, guess as it is a very expensive option. I see that some members have fitted aftermarket headrest systems. Please correct me if I’m wrong but the new sport can play DVD’s through the front screen, can an aftermarket DVD screen system be incorporated into the Land Rover system or does it have to be stand alone? Does the new HSE have TV as standard through the front screen? Is it any good? What is Hybrid TV as I see it in the spec sheet? Any recommendations for aftermarket headrest DVD systems? Very neat as I’m very fussy!

4. Why does it seem that none of the sports for sale have the auto high beem assistance option when it was only around £200? My brother has a Mercedes with it and it’s very good! Haven’t seen a new sport with it fitted. Seems that none of the sports on autotrader have much additional spec, is this cause they are mostly ex demos or pre registered cars?

Your advice and thoughts appreciated.

Our demo is black/black/dark wood (Anigre) with under 2000 miles with Rear Seat Entertainment and a few other bits (forgive me as I'm not at work so unable to look it up). This is due for change from late next month and could be £50,000 at a stretch.

I think it would be worth trying another car as I've not noticed (or had any other comments) regarding the ride being worse (only conpliments on how much better it is).

Apologies that i can't tell you the exact spec, but if you would like to call Spencer or Jeremy after 11am today then they will talk you through the bits it has. 0208 992 2299.

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green

If yours has 19" wheels I guess the 20" will give a slightly harsher ride but mine rides perfectly and no different to a MY09 I've driven for a couple of weeks.

The auto high beam assist is good on mine but I wouldn't really miss it. No it won't play DVDs though the front unless you have the rear entertainment pack. Hybrid TV is only standard for MY11 cars being produced now. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Hey mate,

I just bought my RRS 2 months ago, and like you I hated the lighter wood interiors, so my RRS is Santorini Black, with Black leather and Anigre wood - pics of it can be found here - looks awesome. the Piano black is only available on the TDV8s and autobiographies, but the dark wood looks nearly black anyway

2. Is it just me or have others noticed how bouncy the new one is? The one I tried had 20 inch wheels and all the settings were as the should be.

Mine wasn't bouncy at all unless it is on access lock mode! ride is so smooth its just lovely! I have changed to 22s, but still no bounce.

3. I have the factory rear seat entertainment which is great, there don’t seem to be any new Sports with it fitted, guess as it is a very expensive option. I didn't opt for the rear seat entertainment, because it is an expensive option if there is no-one in the back to watch it!
The new sport will only play DVDs if you have the entertainment pack added.
The HSE doesn't have TV as standard (i think someone has mentioned the MY11 will have though) and the hybrid TV is basically TV that will accept analogue signal as well as digital signals - which it does very, very well!

4. Why does it seem that none of the sports for sale have the auto high beem assistance option when it was only around £200? My brother has a Mercedes with it and it’s very good! do you really need high beam assist?! I've had it on my last 2 previous cars, and it was a pain in the ass!
i'd personally prefer to spend £200 on something else other than giving my fingers a rest from having to flick the high beam on!!!

good luck with whatever you decide to go for - I absolutely love my sport - it's the one I wanted specced how i wanted, and it's gonna be a hard car to replace when the time comes! MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

I've just come out of a 7 Series BMW into a new MY10 RRS TDV8 HSE. I'm really critical about ride comfort and for this reason specified the 19" wheel option, which came with Scorpion Zero 255/50s. I'm not experiencing this bounce that you mention. The ride is pretty good - well damped, no crashing over potholes and, of course, virtually no body roll - it is certainly on a par with the BMW (and I mean that as a compliment). I know many on here probably won't agree, but I wouldn't go near 20" wheels (let alone 22"). 14.5MY SDV6 HSE Dynamic Indus silver/lunar/ebony 20" wheels, InControl, full-size spare, electric tow bar, adaptive xenons, adaptive cruise control, auto main beam assist. Gone: TDV8 HSE; Zermatt silver/ebony, 19" off road alloys, active diff, particle filter, tow pack (it was fun) BMW 730D SE (great car, sadly missed). Ford Focus RS mk2, Ultimate green, lux pack 2, bluetooth. The start of my mid-life crisis.
IN THE GARAGE: BMW i8 - the mid-life crisis continues and it's great fun.

You're spot on regarding wheel size. I think the best ride on a RRS is with 18 inchers and the only reason we have 20's is that they look better. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder Wink Re the 18 inchers - do you know if these will fit the MY10 TDV8 - I have been told they won't fit over the brake calpiers, but if they do I'd like to get some with some winter tyres on. 14.5MY SDV6 HSE Dynamic Indus silver/lunar/ebony 20" wheels, InControl, full-size spare, electric tow bar, adaptive xenons, adaptive cruise control, auto main beam assist. 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

18" Land Rover OEM wheels won't fit, however Compomotive make some very special 18" wheels for the Bowler Nemesis BUT they needed an order for 300 wheels to make it viable to sell them to RRS owners too! 19" is the smallest wheel that will fit and still clear the callipers on Bembo fitted cars without modification of the callipers and even then not all Land Rover 19" designs fit over the callipers - most common ones that folks go for are the V spoke design from the earlier TDv6 HSE, some Disco3 19" rims will also fit
My first RRS was a TDv6 SE which ran in 18" wheels, it had a really nice ride, similar to the FFRR I ran before it, I never really noticed a serious degradation of the ride when I went up to a TDV8, but whenever I fitted my winter Tyres on 19" wheels quite often family would comment the ride was more compliant. Another thing running on the 19's was a lot few scuffs on the rims! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Thanks Guys!

To Lookers Park Royal Can it be £49,999 at a stretch as phycologicly is sounds so much better. Seriously though, I am really quite interested as would save hassle of having an aftermarket RSE fitted. Could you let me have the full spec as soon as you can, will be interesting to see what else it has. If they have factory RSE does it mean that they automatically have the TV? Can one person in the back watch the TV while one is watching a DVD? Do you know if it has rear privacy glass? Also what mine would be worth as a trade in? Could try it privately as it would be next month before yours is available. Not sure what to put it up for though. Mine is pretty much in perfect condition, black with black leather, factory RSE with brand new changer, factory 20 inch stormers, sun roof, black badges and supercharged bits with side steps, pics on my profile. It's gorgeous! 66k miles full land rover history, would fly off your forecourt. Would like to think mine was worth £25k?

To big pimp Yours is very nice, interior combination is perfect!

In regards to the bouncy ride, yes it was a smooth ride but when driving along if you moved the steering wheel from left to right quickly, the whole body seemed to be bouncing around and over speed humps it bounced. I checked all the ride settings against mine and they were as they should be. When I got back in mine it felt so planted to the road with no bounce over speed humps and no body roll. I mentioned it to the sales guy, he just looked at me gone out. It wouldn't stop me buying one as it was only in those instances.
