Your car looks fantastic. Shame you are not selling. As my girlfriend says, "it's all about the colour!". She doesn't get the TDV8 bit but trusts my judgement. I would, of course, love the 5.0 s/c, but I am trying to be 'sensible'... trying very hard.

When I first switched from a well run in 3.0 TDV6 to the brand new tight TDV8 the difference felt very small but now after 4K miles the TDV8 has started to loosen up nicely now and the difference is far more noticeable. The TDV8 has far more mid range shove and sounds great too (for a diesel).

I don't think that this will tick your 'must have' boxes, but please have a look:

There is also another option for a TDv8............................ but it's not an RRS, its better, and there are still plenty of new and late used examples around and it will shortly get a 4.4ltr version of the TDv8 if you fancy it! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, I know, the new RR 4.4 TDV8 must be great don't you think - but may be a bit too much for me, perhaps in 12 to 18 months! There's an engine gap with the RRS right now, so I reckon a TDV6S or the 4.4 TDV8 must be in the planning stages - it just must be.

Just keep watching the LR news site as believe me, it wont be long before the 4.4 is in the RRS and on sale "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Please let me know what you know! I asked the question directly of the Product Manager for RRS and she told me that they had 'packaging issues' so it therefore wouldn't fit in RRS. I am not saying that this is the case as it could be to throw me off the scent, therefore it would be interesting to see what you have been told. For the reccord the dealer network has not been told of a 4.4 TDV8 RRS. James |

Hi James, At one of the RR 4.4 TDV8 press release days the direct question was asked to one ot the big guns at LR about the RRS - the relpy went something like this "you dont think LR would spend all this money on developing an engine to only fit into one marque, especially the least best seller, yes the RRS will get the 4.4 but not until next year sometime" I know LR are working on the "start/stop at the traffic lights" thing on this engine as well as some other things so it is probable that the new gizmos will be in the RRS "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence. "TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you. |

FL2 Stop/Start has a switch, as does my wife's car, however both cars reset to 'ON' at the next ignition cycle.

Will try and find out if there is a way to switch it off via the ECU etc - more later "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence. "TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you. |
