He used a bit of initiative, and even though it may not look as pretty as the overfinch item, it is bolted to the chassis in the 4 load lashings, so will be structurally very rigid, but does that mean safe in a collision in the crumple zone of the RRS?

When I suggested that if he wanted something to carry his family of 6 he should've bought a discovery or even a land cruiser, he laughed, because he wanted a RRS, because for him, they are the pinnacle of 4x4's.

I can see that you all on here were only offering best advice, and hopefully on a couple of days Ewok will see that too!

The thing that makes the Overfinch seats so much more expensive is that they have been properly engineered for a RANGE ROVER, they are not suitable for an RRS.

Out of interest how do you access the tool kit and spare wheel winch when the seat is bolted into place. I also think an insurance company would have a fit if they found 6/7 people in a car only designed and homologated to carry 5. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm with the majority here in so much that I don't think it's a good idea (especially in tandem with a cargo barrier/dog guard) for added danger.

When it comes to the safety of my friends, family, colleagues, customers etc then I wouldn't risk it. I would far rather buy the right car for the job (D3/4) and perhaps forego a bit of cudos of having a RR/RRS.

Although I must admit to having a fully grown adult rolling around in the boot one evening on my way into town with all other seats taken!

that conversion above is fitted in the crumple zone which is why I dont like the extra set of seats , but the one above also has a dog guard...ouch that will hurt in an accident...heads thrown back against it will kill someone.
