Not everybody likes, or indeed wants, privacy glass however that said some cars including the RRS look better with it. I've never had a car with privacy until now mainly because I don't have an ugly hareem I want to hide, I have no kids I want to hide from the world, I'm not the driver for a drug dealer who needs to hide in the back, I don't carry valuable items in the back of the car and mainly because where I live we don't get that much sun that I need to protect those who inhabit the back seat from it's rays. Saying that I'm about to take delivery of a car with factory fitted privacy glass so now I will have to obtain all of the above! Also factory fitted tints are much better than aftermarket purely because no aftermarket film fitter has yet got around the problem of trapped air over the rear and side glass antennae and heater element that you don't have with factory fitted glass because it is tinted glass and the antennae and defogger element are stuck onto that. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I have to disagree..........Factory tints are cheaper and look awful. I have yet to see a car with factory tints, that has had the front windows tinted and looks right.

I personally think light smoke all the way round looks far better than having black limo tints on the rear windows and cheap after market smoke on the front.

I wouldn't want black limo tints on my car being white I think it would look like a van.

"Look awful"? Not as good as the factory tint granted, but acceptable, not awful, but each to their own, just dont get so uptight. Front screen - never, white car and tints = 99 and a wafer please purple people eater

Thought it was illegal to tint front of the centre pillar anyway, no aftermarket tint company thats got a good rep will do it. If you have an accident the insurance will just f k you right off. Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.

i know the standard glass in my front side windows can not be tinted, the natraul tint of standard glass which is used is with in 1 or 2 % off the max legal tint

IIRC front windows have to allow 80% of light through and they already allow 82% through (or something like that), so even putting a clear safety tint could actually effect this (i was told)

When the TDv8 was launched in the RRS it had no badge - my 2007 car was delivered without one but it had HSE on the back but a kind person sent me a TDv8 RRS badge for mine so I took off the HSE badging, 2008MY onward got the TDv8 badge and no HSE, previously the only way to tell was from the front, TDv8 has the ACC box in the left side of the lower intake................................ not on TDv6 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
