To be fair Tim I've yet to do a long journey in the car to get a similar comparison. Most of my journeys are my 30 miles to/from work most of which is spent driving hard. I think the longest journey I have done is for the Lookers meet at the Land Rover Experience Chilterns and I did get 35mpg then.

I'm glad it doesn't have a bigger tank, it costs almost £100 to fill up now and the range normally says under 340 miles!

I stopped using supermarket fuel about 18 months ago when the local "branded" forecourts became the same price as the local supermarkets, I also found a I got better mpg and cleaner exhaust using Shell or BP normal diesel instead of Sainsbury's stuff. I'm changing the car for a 2010MY TDv8 FFRR Vogue next Wednesday hence the bigger tank - they have something like 15litres bigger tank but I doubt I'll see the better side of 30mpg from it 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Loving the TDV8, what a growl. also finally got the drivers seat just right.

this car is so much better than my original RRS I had back in 2005.
