anyone taken their my10 abroad??

two weeks ago i set off for france in my 3.0v6 and was looking forward to taking the grill off and switching the lights over to drive on the wrong side of the road. in the hand book it says to push the switch down to get the pattern to go on the other side......mine was already down!! should it be in the up position in the uk??
cheers

Wait until night time, get the car about 6m from a wall and put the dipped headlights on, look at the pattern of light on the wall. For the UK the beam pattern should be flat to the right and get wider towards the left, if it is flat all the way across then the switch is in the wrong possition.

My car is LHD and the beam pattern is opposite of that, mine is flat on the left and gets wider on the right. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

hi, thanks for your reply, i havent set up my lights for mots for about 20 odd years, so kind of forgot about that!
to use diferent terminology, on uk roads the light patern is "long" on the centre of the road and "wide" on the verge on main beam this sounds about right, which would mean the hand book is wrong as it shows the uk position of the swich in the up position, when mine is down?
cheers

Codfather...I would have thought that if your headlights were in the "wrong" position for the UK then you would have had a lot of oncoming cars flashing their lights at you??

So does the adaptive lights where you set to drive on the right or left via the onboard system not alter the lights !! 2014 5.0SC AB

Hi Codfather,
I drove through Europe recently and I also had to change the lights direction by pulling the switch down. In the UK, however, it should be in up position. Hope it helps and not too late. Thumbs Up Vadim A.

mine must have been an oversight or someone thought they were building a LHD then, as they were in the down position already! in france i phoned landrover assistance who didnt know, they said call my dealer???? the dealer didnt know either!!! thank goodness for this forum!

@benedorm mick, i dont think you would notice anyway, as most of the light seems to be aimed at the top of the trees!

cheers
