Hi, I think reliability in cars in general is not what it used to be and that is with all brands, Have a look at this topic:

Hi i am also a new member. i havent even picked my Range Rover sport 3.6 V8 TD HSE 2007 57 FSH one owner up yet, i did qite a bit of research before i put my money down, like you the reliability factor was an isue, i have gone for a two and a half year car so it has 6 month RR warranty remaining, then i intend to take out the 3 year warranty includeing break down assistance wich will cost for the 3 years £950.00 in total which is advertised on this site. Personaly i would advice you to go for the 3.6 diesel. over the 2.7, the power is so much better and the fuel economy more or less the same cos the 3.6 does not have to work as hard. Were i have bought mine from bolton in lancashire, he had a mint Range Rover sport 2006 56 2.7 V6 TD HSE in java black, side steps, privacy glass super charger grill etc with 43.000 miles on the clock priced at £26950. The dealer was quite decent with me and gave me a much better price for my car than anyone else. if you are interested i will pass his number on to you, He had a couple more comeing in 06 2.7 HSE privacy glass 50.000 miles £24950 and a 06 2.7 HSE FSH 50.000 miles £24950 cheers and good hunting. RANGE ROVER 3.6 TD V8 HSE ZERMATT SILVER BLACK LEATHER. AC COBRA 5.7 V8.................. LIVE FOR TODAY COS TOMORROW MAY NEVER ARRIVE,,,, |

if it helps, I have had mine 3 years come October. The car was 3 months old when I bought her so she is 3 years old to the week. Other than a couple of minor niggles - always sorted with courtesy, speed and efficiency by the dealers, mine is perfect. I have now taken one of Kam's extended warranty deals and I love the car as much now as I did when I bought her. Before you buy, check out black with Alpaca leather - it's lovely (IMHO) lol If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

To all those of you considering a used RRS service history is absolutely essential with any used Land Rover not just RRS. With RRS TDv8 there are less engine issues but you have the added complication of some very complex hydraulic antiroll bars that, while they do wonders for the high speed drive, do wear out suspension bushes a lot quicker than on the other cars. Two things for sure though - there are many many used RRSs out there looking for homes, DON'T buy the first one you see, try a few, there are other colours than black as well! Secondly if you can afford a little extra the TDv8 is more rewarding to drive, the fuel economy is good when you don't try to out-hot hatch a hot hatch ( remember this is a 2.8 tonne car you can give a GTi a nasty fright but they will always get the better of you!) if you drive sensibly then both cars can achieve >30mpg - yesterday I drive my TDV8 from Central Scotland to Central London and averaged 31.2mpg and 63mph over the entire trip - that's Stirling to London on 3/4 of a tank of diesel. Tdv6 has to work harder but can get the same. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
