Printer Help

I am looking to purchase a colour laser printer for my home office, will not be doing lots of heavy printing and do not need it to be mega expensive but would like around 20ppm and duplex, also do not want a unit that uses mega expensive ink.

Looking at circa £200 - 300, anybody have any recomendations Question

Thanks

i got Brothers for the office (B&W ones not colour)

we replaced the main office one with a Xerox, a single sheet of paper got jammed and they had to take the printer apart to release it, put it back together and it went bang, and we got our money back and thats when we got the Brothers, they have been fault free since

I would recommend www.printerbase.co.uk as a place to buy too they often have offers of free extended warranty and prices are normaly cheaper. (from my experiance of using them)

When i looked check the cost of the toners etc as some machines were expensive on them

Dell colour laser printers are very good and cheaper on consumables than most other brands.

Check ebay out as sometimes some really good buys can be found - I got a 6 month old Dell 5110cn for £113 (inc delivery) from a Dell reseller when the original cost of the printer was £1125 Shocked Turned out the printer had just been pulled off the production line for a few months of tests before being sold as second hand!

Woody many thanks, i have picked up a reconditioned Dell 5110CN unit for £120 with 6 month warranty on ebay, i need the printer drivers and utilities CD, if anybody could provide a copy for a small donation, saves me having to download drivers ect and makes set up a lot easier Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

I didn't get the original drivers and utilities disc for mine either so I just downloaded them from Dells website, however just looked and they now have a image of the disc available for download which is compatible with windows 7 as well - so I have downloaded a copy and will burn it to disc.

The shortcut to the image is below, however I'll gladly burn an extra copy and send it to you - pm me your address.

I always opt for HP products. I was 25 years in I.T. business on the Hardware side and I always
found HP to be the best overall products. Ones to stear clear of IMHO are Lexmark & Brother.
Xerox are ok (when they work), but they have by far the worst after service I have ever experienced and
for that reason alone I wouldn't touch them. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
