Dealer prices for Pads and Tyres

I've just been quoted £248 to replace my front pads on my 57 RRS from a Land Rover Dealership

I thought that was expensive so I called a local independant garage who quoted me £64.67 fitted, I have brembos at the front.

I was also quoted £250 fitted per tyre fitted for Pirelli Scorpions....an alternative was Pirelli Pzeros which came in at £181 fitted.

Are these dealer prices OTT? and what are the pzeros like? Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

Dealers will typically charge you £120.00 per hour labour. Independent garages charge a less and are more open to deals. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

£250 isnt bad for a dealer quoting for 275/40/20 tyre.

Not sure how your independant managed to do brembos for 64 quid fitted. The genuine front brembo pads alone are £110 iirc. WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

The cheapest I've seen Brembo pads was on ebay and I think they were about £80

Do you think these are non genuine pads? what is the disadvantage of fitting them? Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

OK so I'm starting to think the independent is offering non genuine pads, need to clarify this tomorrow. If that's the case then I'll park that idea.

Searching on previous posts, am I right in thinking to replace my front pads with Brembos I need to buy the following parts:

Brembo Front Pads - £115

Brembo Front Pad Sensor - £12

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RANGE-ROVER-SPORT-BR...29faabedc2

And then pay somebody to fit them? is there anything else I need to purchase? Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

Mac, the independent that I use for my Defender uses all genuine LR parts, and can get me parts from the local dealer cheaper than I can buy them even with the 17.5% discount I get at the dealership parts counter.......................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Cheers Tim, I ended up buying the genuine front pads from the LR dealer for £136 and got the independent to change them for me for a grand sum of £15. So all in all I saved myself £100 from having them done at the dealer.

Now...which member of your family works at the dealer to get a 17.5% discount!? Wink Thumbs Up Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"
