More's the pity! That would be a very useful addition. I use a "MicroPoadPilot" to provide speed camera alterts. It works well but it would be much neater to have it all integrated into the SatNav i.e. like every cheap TomTom etc already does Crying or Very sad 2010 TDV6 SE Nara Bronze

Had my RRS 2 weeks now and used Sat Nav first time last weekend Big Cry

Asked me 3 times to reroute to avoid traffic ahead despite setting auto avoid then took me on a mystery tour of Newcastle back streets and council estates - took forever Confused

I also miss speed camera warnings - not that I speed but with all the varied speeds now it is reassuring when you are on roads you do not know.

Not a patch on my Garmin but a bit reluctant to stick it on windscreen and have leads hanging down when I paid all this money for a RRS HSE Sad

Very disappointed Crying or Very sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I think the problem isn't that putting speed cameras into any built in satnav is beyond technology, the problem is the data goes out of date after a day with regard to mobile cameras and then LR opens itself up to silly people who will try to sue them when they get caught and the cam that got them isn't on the satnav.

When I had my TDv6 SE with no LR Nav I bought an Indigo (now obsolete I think) that showed all the fixed cams and if you were in an area where there were often mobile cameras it warned you "High Risk of Speed Cameras in this area". I was also able to update it daily on-line for a fee.
Strangely it reckoned that a stretch of road near me which has a lots of sharp bends on it has the "high risk" warning yet I don't ever recall seeing a cam on that section of road, yet closer to home plod rigs up his portable unit 2-3 times a week and there is no warning and this is on a long straight stretch of road where you don't need a satnav to tell you there is a Safety Camera Van parked on the side of the road - you can see it from about 3 miles away!! Anybody who gets caught by it deserves a ticket for driving without due care.

Best way to not get tickets - drive within the speed limit and that is always marked either on the road surface or on numerous signs on the side of the road, if you don't see them then you cannot be driving with proper care and attention (in the eyes of plod!!)! For some strange reason 99% of people who see a round road sign that is white and has a black bar painted diagonally across it think it means the speed limit is now 70mph when in fact it is actually 60mph on all A roads in the UK, unless there is a 70 sign posted - if the speed limit is less than 60 then a round white painted sign with a red edge with the speed limit for the road will be posted.
Here is what the website "Traffic Signs and Their Meanings" ( http://www.trafficsignsandmeanings.co.uk/speed-limit-signs.html ) says:-

"National Speed Limit: This sign is a white circle with a black diagonal stripe through the middle of the sign. This signifies that you may now travel at a speed of up to a maximum 60mph on an outer urban road or up to a speed of 70 mph when on a Dual Carriageway or Motorway."

Here is another little tip from the same website

If you are driving and there are street-lights lining both sides of the road this usually means that you are driving in a 30mph zone unless specified.

You can always ignore it and spend hours sat in the traffic! I always take these messages with a huge pinch of salt - often there is no delay unless it is road works, because the Highways Agency takes forever to remove the messages from the Traffic Alert system after the incident causing the delay has been cleared. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
