2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
offical LR extended warranty

available on a 57 plate HSE with 38k on the clock for £770. Looking at the details it sounds very comprehensive, and is the official LR offering. Even the sat nav is now covered.

Has anyone taken out the LR official extended warranty and subsequently had to claim? was the process painful?

Had the LR extended warranty for just over a year now, had a couple of claims:

New Audio Head Unit
Drivers Window Motor
New Front Bush

Think the busg would be a wear & tear item but was covered by the MOT section of the warranty, and that was an advisory not a fail.

No issues at all with the claim process, Dealer handled it all. If anything process seemed simpler than claiming under the Manufacturer warranty.
Although they did suggest repairing the Audio and leaving me with a hole in the dash, until I said no.

Was thinking of swapping for MY10 instead of the extended warranty, but quite happy so far.

Also you can pay as you go/monthly on the extended warranty, if you sell the car you can just cancel instead of transfering to new owner. No refunds if you pay in full, I think

I was offered an official LR warranty at the 3rd year service and was told it was underwritten by Car Care Plan, not LR, but cover was similar.

I haven't taken it up yet but would be interested to hear others experiences. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

You're probably right.

Can't remember who it's underwritten by, the registered address is the same as provider of other warrantys.

One of which was a gap policy that paid on a previous car.

The offer from KAM seems very reasonable:

Bought mine from LR when it was just over 3 years old so come with the extended warranty. Have claimed for the 2 front lower ball joints which was done as quick as anything.

The lr warranty is the one to have, you may find others will not cover the full labour rate if you use a main dealer, also diagnostics time may not be covered, which is crazy as these cars need hooked up to diagnostic equipment for even the simplest of problems, the end result by saving a few hundred on another warranty you may always have a bill if your car does need to go into the garage.
