As far as I know if you press the button once it locks it, press it twice it locks it but disables the alarm, eg. if you have left kids in back for a minute or your dog. (or wife) |

Double pressing lock button on key disables internal volume sensor so as said earlier you do not set the alarm of if you leave dog or sprogg in car |

So how do you deadlock the car in superlock mode? |

Superlocking is activated by one press of the lock button on the remote control and the doors can only be opened (from inside or outside of the vehicle) with the correct key or remote control.

So they have completely reversed this for the 2010 models which is confusing! On mine you double press to superlock it. This is from the owners manual. I just checked to make sure:

So what happens with one press of the key then Quite often on Ferries so being able to switch off alarm but keeing it locked is very useful, especially on a rough crossing, unless I want to annoy the crew and have a flat battery at the other end |

It doesn't double lock so if someone smashed the windows they could then open the door from inside. I don't know why that is the default. Its the same on my Alfa too.

Its not very difficult. This used to be the system in the P38s. Unlike the mechanics at the dealers, its not like you have to drive different year models every day! Single Locking: Press lock button once briefly. Double Locking is Superlocking: Press the lock button twice within three seconds. On ferries, use Single locking. No, that still activates the mention sensors inside the car and will set the alarm off if someone moves or if the sunroof is left open (as I've found out) or on a ferry.
