All I can think is that it has something to do with the electronic gear change knob that the Jag has, versus the more traditional gear change lever in the Sport...

The smart key implementation on the MY10 is poorly thought through - our car locked with the Smart key inside the car in the cup holder and with our baby in the back and then refused to let us back in again. Had to call LR Assist and get a spare key. Apart from that the following should have been addressed:

1. Can't lock the car with the key inside - apart from the obvious you can never check if the car is securely locked

2. Lock the gearstick in Park and have an audible warning if the key is removed from the car with the engine running

3. Tie the Smart key into the drivers seat and steering wheel position memory - so it sets the seat when you open the car

As it is the current implementation 'feels' like an afterthought by the MY10 designers and, without the above, a physical key would have been far better!
