Hi,
My alternator on TDV8 has decided to pack in this morning, no local dealers can touch it for at least a week including a couple of Land Rover specialists.
As I am now out of warranty my own workshops are going to have a go at replacing once the new one arrives in the morning, it all looks pretty tight to get at, anybody have any experience of carrying this out or advice for me to pass on to my mechanics in terms of making the job any easier. Would be much appreciated.

Gidday Folks

I'm trying to make a repair to a alternator but would be easier if I had the alternator part number, this one hte sticker is gon, I believe it might be a denso unit but I havnt seen a denso number.

Rectifier faulty ( too lightly built, look like old school 35 amp diodes )

3 terminal plug can h, can l, batt.

I'm replacing my alternator on my tdv8 but I need help understanding how to remove the Air Cleaner. Does anyone have the Air Cleaner (19.10.01) information?

Perhaps I need the Accessory Drive belt (86.10.03) also.

You should find the sections you are looking for as pdf (although the section numbering differs from that which
you quoted as the pages are from a different version of the manual?)

Many many thanks bobby! The air cleaner is now off but i cant figurer out how to remove The cooling shroud. I need to remove it so i cant remove The belt. Do you have this info also?

To be more precise. I dont understand this step:
