Range Rover Sport Phone

Hi - I am new to this forum and just purchased my 1st Range Rover Sport HSE, 2007, 2.7ltr - Please could someone tell me which phones will fit the cradle. I have tried connecting my samsung via bluetooth and its telling me unable to recognise number when voice activated or entered manually. The number is correct. Previous car - Nissan X-Trail - Cheers Mark.

I think it is only the old Nokias that fit the cradle unfortunately purple people eater

The telephone system in your vehicle allows for the use of different types/manufacturers handsets. This is achieved using a handset specific cradle which is mated to a standard base plate.

The design of the adaptor cradle will vary to accommodate different types of phones. Check with any dealer near to you what design (phone/model) cradle is currently fitted to your vehicle.

Offhand, I would agree that mostly Nokias are compatible but do a search here - this topic has been discussed before. Wink Malaysia Boleh!

If I remember correctly the only cradle eventualy made available only fitted
the Nokia 6230 or 6230i phones. Basically forget it, don't bother with the cradle,
I had one and the sound quality when on the cradle was terrible. Also the 6230i
was constantly hanging the entire system (phone/sat nav/cd/radio) when using
bluetooth connection as it is all interconnected. It was a real pain in the backside
and no amount of software updates by LR ever resolved the issue! Now that I have
a 2010 RRS and have ditched my nokia for an HTC Legend I have (fingers crossed)
so far had no problems. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I would agree with Endjin there. Almost all earlier LR Telephone/Bluetooth systems have been reported to be crap!

You would be better off getting some after market ones. Some brands have been mentioned here before - do a search or better still speak with some of our forum sponsors! Malaysia Boleh!
