If he really wants the car, i would ask for at least 5% discount. How do they get away with this? |

0% APP deal finished at the end of March, so I'm not sure why your dealer didn't discuss this. They can get it to 0% if they subsidise it, therefore they need to honour whatever is on the order form.

Not sure why you would go in and pay in full if they honour (or should) the deal................why give them the money when you can make a profit for the next 2 years and then pay........lunacy |

Totally Agree. Insist they honour the original deal or you will walk away. Why on earth would your father want to play into the hands of such an unscrupulous dealer? |

I disagree. The deal is only valid if the car is delivered while the deal is available, this should have been highlighted by the dealer. So what happens now. Well the 0% APP, is not free money, in this case as I understand it, the dealer effectively pays the finance company the interest that would have been due on the loan. This means that the purchaser doesn't get as a good a discount on the vehicle as you might if you were to pay by cash. So what does mean for you, well, you were always going to pay cash, so you should go back to the dealer and negotiate a straight cash purchase without the finance, as your dealer will now effectively be pocketing the interest payment that would have been owed to the finance company. Nice! 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

Gazzer, you are on the right lines however LR pay the interest as opposed to the dealer, therefore the purchase price would not be affected. If an offer of 0% has been formally made then it will be on the order form and the dealer will be contracturally bound.
