2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Hello and help required with SatNav!!

Hi guys. Just taken my first venture into the world of RR Sport with a new 2010 3.0 HSE (santorini black, ivory, anigre, cameras - bloomin useless but a great toy - dvd/tv).

Glad to find this forum of like minded souls. Love the car.

Nevertheless, the SatNav is driving me to distraction (excuse the pun). It always wants to take me on the most direct route across coun try - even when giving a choice of 3 routes - when there is a very fast road that may be slightly out of the way and will get me there much quicker.

Sorry to sound a pleb but the old Tom Tom was a cut above - unless of course this system is better and I just need to learn how to use it.

Instruction manual not oif much help but I suspect one of you may point to a previous post or have an answer.

Cheers!

Not fully up to date with the MY2010 sat nav but I would presume it's fairly similar to the older one. There should be a option within the Sat Nav menu prefs to set fastest route etc. Play with it a little and you'll find the set up that suits. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green

Mine seems pretty spot on in Essex/Hertfordshire where it will go out of the way to take me to the M25 or if not use dual carriage ways. I have noticed in London it does seem to take strange routes though.

Make sure in the route preferences you switch off traffic. My first MY10 had this enabled on delivery and it would always avoid traffic even if there was minimal delay. That meant it would divert me off a motorway just because of roadworks even when traffic was flowing through them fine. It will still warm you of traffic just not auto-avoid. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award
