Idiot - jacking the car up

Well got a puncture last night so decided to change the tyre in the dark and in a rush.........only managed to put the jack in the wrong place and attempt to lift the car up on the suspension air compressor rather than the chassis rail.........result one broken alloy mounting for the compressor..........d'oh!!!!! Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Fingers crossed I can get the mounting bracket separate to the full compressor or it could work out a good £500+ error!

done that too, first time in the snow and jacked the car up on the dimple on the compressor cover and cracked the mount, it broke finaly after 2 years and I had to replace it. It came as a single unit and you could not get a bracket on it's own, cost me €450 at the local main dealer Sad Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Just done this myself, however copley LR in Halifax replaced the lot for £250 as long as they got to keep and "trade in" my old compressor

Been down this road myself. Didn't fancy get down and dirty and the compressor cover fitted the jack perfectly. Sad
Anyway. Goods news is that you can buy the air pump bracket £65.56 plus vat. Mounts x 3 £9.99
I got my local garage to do the work, total cost including vat £161.06

So not the end of the world. Good luck Cool
