DRIVERS SEAT BASE MOVEMENT

Hello , have an 2008 , and just the BASE of the drivers seat tends to move a tiny bit when braking and pulling off sometimes , the rest of the seat is fine , it seems it is just the leather base where your bum goes that moves.

Spoke to LR and it is booked in next week , do not think it is the issue "rocking" as i had this on my other RR and my current one is different to that , it is just the leather base that moves....

Any clues / can a NEW base just be bought (warranty) if needed or does the drivers seat come in one whole unit ?

Await your expert views.

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but I recall reading quite a few complaints in recent past (from 2008 owners in particular) about an annoying, slight rocking motion of driver and/or passenger seats when coming to a stop. The problem would sometimes come back even after the dealer replaced the seat track/rail mechanism, as a TSB issued a few months ago recommended.

Forget that TSB, it's no good anymore. A new service message released on the GTR appears to confirm that new seat rail may only solve the problem temporarily and, until a better rail design is released, the SSM suggests that the seat literally be thrown out of whack a bit to stop the rocking motion - and the customer complaints. Concern
Range Rover Sport, Discovery 3 / 4, LR3 / 4 & Freelander 2 / LR2 customers may report 'Seat rock' from either the drivers or passengers front seat on their vehicle. This SSM supersedes Technical bulletins LTB00176V2/3.

Action
It is imperative that the seat rails at this stage are not replaced but the attached containment process carried out on a fix on fail basis. Replacing the seat rail or any other seat components may only temporally fix the customers concern. Please note:-The attached validated process is an interim containment process until a new quality assured seat rail is available.
SRO is 78.70.89.41 - Seat track repair and has a time of 0.3 hours.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Mine was done under warranty today for the 2nd time. Last time it was seat tracks this time a modification to the seat rail according to the dealer.

3rd service done today (18 months and 15,900km). Service carried out, wiper blades replaced, driver's seat rail fixed it seems (for now) total cost zero. All washed and clean.

As usual, Lance Dixon did it while I went shopping for 3 hours and were up to their usual high standards.

Gotta love this free servicing for 3 years scheme! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

2009 RRS HSE SEAT TRACK REPAIR PROCEDURE

Hi Guys, (that includes M & F).
I was informed somewhere on this site there was a Landrover Technical Bulletin on how to repair "Seat Rock".
Cant find it!
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Many Thanks.
