Shocked think your a trifle confused - you probably mean a series 1 LR as it is reputed that this was based on the chassis of an old jeep not a FFRR

I think the original point is now being missed, the class of the car does not define or indicate the class of the owner. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

Class is determined by birth

Daddy Range Rover married Ms Disco 3

A few years later giving birth to Miss Freelander and Master Rangie-Sport.

So us young kids are known as Master and Miss till we grow up but have the same social class.

All you do is swap your rattle and bling for slippers and pipe

Agreed.....If they are both new........but a 10 year old FFRR for £15K cannot be considered a class above a new RRS.....like some of those fullfatties think

10 years old would put it as a P38 not FFRR and these can be picked up for buttons - you would get a very nice L322 for 15K. Whilst I do not like the P38, the open and airy interior to me is preferable to a Sport - note not better just preferable - thats my opinion. You cannot really compare like for like as the Sport is designed for a slightly different, sportier and younger?? market - as Clarkson said "its like sitting in the cockpit of a fighter..."

Re this Thread Topic - I think the point about upmarket is utterly pointless and just a feable attempt to annoy people. AT the end of the day all LR products are fantastic vehicles and you have to respect their marketing men for that, gentle rib tickling is just that - provocative sparing between owners who love their vehicles dearly - with no malice intended... However there are one or two particular idiots who delight in posting stupid provocative threads which it seems to me is an attempt to just disrupt Martin's fantatsic forums. You know who I mean V8!

the class system does not really work for cars, does it Question Confused

Got to remember they were all born out of the Defender, which as we all know is working class. Confused Confused

With globalization cars have to many multi racial components nowadays more akin to the poor illeigimate heirs of old. b Censored ds

What I would agree with is a higher average class of person buys a Full Fat, who is also likley to be on average older than a buyer of a RRS but then again they could all equally go out and buy a Jeep and we all know America has no class system at all. Whistle
