Sunroofs

Just watched this:

Guinness Premiership Finals - Discovery 4 Sunroof Challenge

and it left me wondering, how com the FL2 and Disco get the options of panoramic glass sunroofs that take up half the roof, whereas all RRS (and FF) buyers get is the option of a small bog standard glass hatch in the roof?

Although I have to say that if you look over a load of parked cars from a height (especially more prestige cars), it's quite surprising how few actually have sunroofs these days. Perhaps it's due to everything having climate control, but there was always more to a sunroof than just getting air into the car. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

I love sunroofs on cars - they're so much more than just climate control - it's great having some fresh air blowing in.

how many people on here have sunroofs on their RRS's?

3 of my last 4 cars have had sunroofs and my current RRS has one and I wouldn't be without it Thumbs Up

My Landcruiser way back in '97 had a "moonroof" as Toyota were not allowed to call it a sunroof as it was a trademark by Nissan. AstonMartin did a very nice glass roof for one of the last Vanquish "Copper Kettle" a few years ago.

I have only just come to realise that I too love a sunroof. Won't get another car without one.

I have a sunroof in mine and really think its worth while, Even closed it makes the car light and airey. Open its a good option for cool frsh air rather than the aircon, but got to get it right to avoid "helicoptor" noise. Had sun roofs in most of my cars except the 2006 RRS, and really missed it purple people eater

i have a sunroof in mine, very rarely open it, but i do like the amount of extra light they allow in

Even if you only get a standard one

I think the reason the RRS doesn't get one, is us poor FL2 owners don't get as many holidays abroad so need as much sunlight as possible for our tans Whistle

I made sure my RRS came with a sunroof, as indeed with previous cars.

Personally, on a hot sunny day, I really enjoy driving with the roof open and the aircon on. A great combination Cool

I also have a sunroof on my RRS, took 6 months to find the right colour, trim & sunroof & would'nt be without it for light, fresh air & feel good factor - use it all the time, however, had to have it replaced 6 months ago as Landrover managed to twist the frame when installing it in the factory from new - another LR quality control issue !! Mad I am their leader................ which way did they go ?

Most of my previous cars had sunroof's until I bought my 1st RRS.
Quite surprised that the RRS HSE doesn't come with it as standard,
especially considering it does on my wife's Freelander 2 HSE which costs
over £20k less!
But TBH, I don't really miss it. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
