Did you know you are not 'up-market'

Funny post on fullfatrr.com

"The upmarket image went with the RR Sport. It should have been a Land Rover Sport and they should have left the Range Rover the hell alone!"

Laughing Laughing

Some of those guys really hate the RRS!

What will they make of the LRX!

I guess its similar to Bentley fans hating the Continental GT, Jag fans hating the X-Type etc, anything that lowers the entry point. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

It's funny how so many of the comments seem to refer to the FFRR owners being more "upmarket" than everyone else because of the cost of a FFRR, but many seem to own second hand ones that probably cost less than a new RRS in the first place! Talk about self-deluded, they're worse than BMW drivers!

Off now to buy a 15yr-old P38 for £2,000 so I can look down my nose at you lot Wink Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

Laughing Laughing I spotted that...... you get that a lot, but I always say; so I suppose Messrs Rooney, Gerrard, Beckham cannot not afford the FFRR Big Cry

Ridiculous.....but you're right, in fact the chap in question has a 2003 FFRR probably worth less than £20k!

Other comments I like:

Quote:
When I bought my Vouge I realised how many people say they drive a 'Range Rover' and then it turns out to be a sport. They want the brand image, but at a cheaper price.

Says the guy who last month posted 'Got a late 2005 facelifted RR Vogue with the Td6'.

Couldn't even afford a TDV8 (or spell Vogue). How is that not wanting the brand image, but at a cheaper price.

As far as I'm concerned, LR should leave the sports car segment to sports car manufacturers

It will have a 2.2 diesel engine, how is that sports car segment!

On that subject shame they won't be fitting the 3.0 TDV6 or I might be tempted! WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Arrrrgghhh.....this annoys me.....you are absolutely right!! Buying 5 years old is the very definition of wanting the brand image but at a cheaper price!!

You are so right.

Here, FFRR used values drop quicker than RRS so many of the snobby bastards who think they are upmarket paid about 2/3 of the price of a new RRS....and cars are relatively quite expensive here.

I like the FFRR but I also like diesel and I couldn't reconcile owning an FFRR with that dreadful TD6 engine which seems to be so much worse in the FFRR than the X5 from whence it came. My old man has a TD6 in the UK and it sounds like a tractor. He always says how smooth and quiet the RRS is in comparison.

So, I have an RRS and a "yacht".....but the yacht has engines so maybe I am still a downmarket scumbag Rolling with laughter Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
