quick update, after loads of calls on friday afternoon from the sales girl promising me that the money will be in first thing this morning and the car will be ready this afternoon at the latest, but surprise surprise no money and no car, also lookers have gone back to ignoring my calls. really really wished id gone to another dealers now

I've just noticed your post and have put a call into the branch. The DP is aware of the situation and advises that the finance company used is one they do not use too often, therefore there is a bit of a 'slow-down' there.

Hopefully after my call and email to them there will be some more urgency behind it.

Thanks James, was soooooo looking forward to spending the weekend playing with my new toy but after all this im not really looking forward to taking delivery now, kinda put a huge downer on it all, hopefully it will be sorted for tomorrow as im off to manchester wednesday for work and not back till sunday night.

All is good!!! picked the car up this afternoon and im in love with it already, had a chat with the sales lady and after her explaining about the finance company and it not being a normal 1 they would use etc etc and the fact that they wernt ignoring my calls i retract my previous statements as they wernt no real blame to lay on the dealers just bad on the finance companies part. im a happy man

Well either the mug or the promise of an alimony payment........j. kidding James. There is much strength behind your voice on the phone I'm sure mate!! If only you had that much pursuasion when you get home!!

In February I booked a back to back test drive of the 3.0 TDV6 and the TDV8 HSEs with Lookers in Bishop Stortford. The sales lady was very offhand when we arrived, and delegated the drive to 2 colleagues. Rather more attentive after the drive but with 2 children in tow, an boredom levels rising, she needed to get a move on... Eventually she got around to looking at my 2.7 TDV6 for trade-in and due to our own time pressures, said she would get back to me.

Nada. Nothing. Not a word.

So here I am, a customer spending over £55K and they don't even follow up. Gritting my teeth, I phoned her to talk abpout the trade-in and new car price. She said she'd get back to me. But didn't of course. So I tried again, but couldn't reach her, and twice left her messages to phone me.

So I ended up buying, sight unseen, from Stratstone of Mayfair. Not local, but they gave me a trade-in price based on my description and a very fair deal. Even on the day I picked up my new car from them, because they are so tight for space, it was parked out of sight and they didn't check. I'd definitiely deal with them again.

So last week, the Lookers Sales Lady phoned to ask if we were still interested in a new RRS. No thanks, we've bought it elsewhere because you wouldn't return my calls. Oh, she says, and who were you dealign with, if you don't mind me asking...
