United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
Collecting my RRS supercharged tomorrow - can't wait

I'm new here but within a week or so of registering I have managed to get a RRS. I collect it tomorrow from the dealer and am looking forward to a 50 miles cross country return trip Very Happy

Black with Ivory, Supercharged with brand new (genuine) 22" Overfinch Supersport Alloys, new running boards and 2010 rear light cluster.

2007/07 car with 36,000 miles and Full LR history.

3 questions:

1. Will I be able to connect an i-pod or was this an option or aftermarket fit?
2. The LR warranty expres at the end of the month - is it recommended to extend it?
3. Does the cool box really work or is it like my Merc, where the aircon is simply channeled into the compartment?

Very excited........

Marc

Can't answer the first two Marc but the fridge works great. It isn't run from the aircon like other cars, its a proper fridge. It takes a while to cool down mind. I keep water, coke and red bull in mine and they stay lovely and chilled. Will have to see how well it works on hot days, I'd imagine it will take a couple of hours before they are really chilled.

It doesn't hold much though, only 4 cans/bottles and won't take a 500ml bottle. Coke cans are fine as are 330ml Evian bottles.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

For peace of mind I would get the warranty extended. They are not known for their reliability and it would pay for itself with one claim. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

You can connect all ipods to the RRS using the aux socket in the centre consul. If you want full ipod funtions then you need to buy a kit.

If you were buying from a LR dealer I believe they would normally give you a full year warranty. I would buy a warranty but look about as LR warranty is expensive and there are more competitive prices out there. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If buying from LR, they shouldn't be selling it with 22 Overfinch wheels......

if you remove the lid/phone kit then you can fit 4x500ml bottles in the fridge, or 6x330ml cans. The lack of lid doesn't seem to effect the cooling ability. I find the cans on the bottom get ice cold and 'conduct' the cold upwards to the other cans. It's also very good for chocolate!

If he was buying from LR Nick he wouldn't be asking about extended warranties!

Interesting... I'll have to try that. I assumed the lid was essential for chilling the contents. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I bought the car from an Indy dealer, but have signed up with a LR dealer for extended warranty. LR serviced the car yesterday and no questions re Overfinch. No issues re warranty either ..... Question

The car is wonderful.

Had a few Fawlty Towers moments this evening sat in the car trying to get to grips with voice recognition for the phone etc. After a bit of general swearing and name calling we got the hang of it.

Fridge is excellent. Now stocked !

AUX socket in the rear hooks up the i=pod touch a treat. No need for FM transmitter that I was expecting to use...

22" Overfinches are just fantastic.

Very happy and will post pics soon.

Guys,

Try turning the fridge lid upside down. If you have the phone cradle installed under the armrest part then you'll have to remove it (as long as your not intending to use it) and you'll get some 500ml bottles in there.

Obviously you will loose the storage space the lid provides, but well worth it to get the Irn-Bru in there.

Bullet Thumbs Up

My dealer now offers Overfinch in 20s and 22s

You can also turn the lid upside down for more room.

I tried this in the 09 HSE loaner I had and it held 500ml bottles perfectly. Cool I thought. I then tried it in my 2010 today and you can't do it any more. There is a big gap left when the lid is upside down and due to the ipod connector you can't close the armrest even without an ipod in the car. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award
