Xenon Light Retrofit

Hi all,

Been a bit of a sleeper for a while, so 1st post!

My 2005 RRS never came with Xenon lights. What is involved in fitting them?
any ideas where i can buy them from?

Cheers

I looked into fitting xenons to my XC90 as the lights on it were S Censored T as they are on most halogens on Volvos. I was told the cost would be too prohibitive and there wasn't a "kit" that Volvo did to the change. Then politely told me I could fit aftermarket HID units but then that would also invalidate my warranty. Nice people at VCUK really. If it's just the xenons you want it's a straight swap but not so for the adaptive ones.

Do you own check though. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Are the ballasts etc for the xenons built into the light units themselves then VA? On the Volvo they were all seperate parts fixed on the inner wings and different wiring in the fuse box too IIRC. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Look in the manual how to remove lights - very easy! It's only 2 clips. You then unplug them. Best place to buy is LR dealer but you could try the shop of beelzebub more commonly known as ebay! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

No expert and I'm only going on what I've heard before. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

With the D3, the ballasts are in the headlight unit, so it's a simple straight swap job. So I'd say it's the same for the RRS units.

They are pretty darn expensive though from the dealers, however forum member Slimer can source genuine LR units for the D3 at a very competitive price & on occasion offers them for sale over on disco3.co.uk. so perhaps he can get the RRS units as well.

Certainly worth dropping him a PM Thumbs Up
