TDV6 EGR Valves (2)

Has anyone been brave enough to blank off their EGR valves on 05-06 Models, & if so were there any noticeable improvements in performance? I've just bought the Blanking Kit (incl the excellent instructions & colour photos) from Britpart & everything appears accessible. 'Wonder how it might effect the MOT with emission readings.

Hi there,

Did my '55 plate and it was a little fiddly. My only word of advice is take your time and do not drop anything as
there are enough places to loose my whole socket set down there, and you don't want to be taking the sump shield off!!

There was a noticeable difference in pick up and overall very pleased.

Hope this helps.
Alex

HI
You wont have any problems at MOT time with blanking the EGR valves.

Thanks to Alex & Pete. I've since successfully blanked them off & also found an improved pickup. Thanks again.

It's early days yet to confirm mpg on the 'blanking', but the computer appears to be showing 25.7 mpg just undertaking local runs which is a healthy increase over about 24.0 I used to achieve, & that's with occasionally trying out the improved pick up!
