Guernsey 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

James

The bi planes are quite entertaining and can offer some quite spectacular displays, have sometimes seen as many as 10 up in one go flying formation, tricks stunts etc.

On the way home manged to spot 3 of Britain's rarest bird.............

the Bustard

Pretty good as only estimated to be 15-22 of the 98 birds that have been released over the past 6 years.

Perhaps catch you next time your over

Greatpics RRSBoy...........these really give me a hunger to go off road.

If I bought some 19's with MTRs would I still be ok with my big rear HST bumper and side steps??

I guess you were sat in the Buck Blue RRS then?

Earlier in the day (on the Plain itself) we saw in the region of 30 vintage tractors in convoy enjoying one of the byways, and last time I was there the Citroen 2CV Club were also convoying across the Plain, so there are some sights to see. Shocked

I'm quite a regular down there and was happy to lead a few along some of the better routes. It was fairly quiet for a Sunday as we only saw two other 4x4's and a couple of groups of KTM's. Although there is more chance of 'closed' areas during the week, I do find it more interesting as there is generally military hardware out training. Last time out we spotted at least 3 different Apachte Gun Ships. Cool

Personally I don't think you are grumpy, you have a fair point. All I would say is that all day they were all very well behaved, therefore I guess that as it was the last couple of miles before finishing for the day that led to a little fun being had out sight of 'their leader' Laughing

Perhaps we should get back onto the subject of the wheel; I have never seen anything quite like it and thought initially a suspension bag had let go. Would this have happened if he had driven forward having been stationary as opposed to reversing? Did reversing wedge the rock/object between the wheel and calliper?

James Thumbs Up

I'll try my best not to annoy anyone. All I was trying to say was the tone with which your first post came across was grumpy, but upon explanation it is apparent why you seem annoyed by the whole incident.

I was having no more of a go at you, than you appeared tone having at rrsboy.

Personally I just can't wait until I get my 24hour test drive of a new 3.0v6 to see what all the fuss is about before I (hopefully) place my order!

actually I appreciated lespes's comments - it is always good to hear a different viewpoint/opinion and on reflection perhaps we could have been more restrained. Although I would add that a pair of walkers shouted at us as we passed at (literally) 5mph.

Shared use of the plain is a very contentious issue and we all need to make an effort to get along. Tensions run high between every group - even mountain bikers get it in the neck - so it's especially disappointing to Censored off a fellow RRS owner!

When I was training for an Enduro challenge on the plain (moto-X bike), I was thrown off and concussed by a large branch that had been deliberately placed across the track - some people take things too far. I get frustrated at dog owners who dont' clear up after their pets on the plain because "it's the countryside" but setting a bear trap for them would probably be seen as 'excessive'.

We live and learn!

Well put RRSBoy, we all have an equal right to be there, regardless of the preferred pursuit (well there may be some exceptions)! Laughing

I for one am looking forward to the next one, however N Wales is on the cards.
