Goodbye or is it au revoir.....?

Well it's been 7 months since I changed out of my Disco 3 HSE and took delivery of my 2010MY RRS HSE and it's with great sadness but it's time to part company. Do I want to lose her, no. Does it make any sense having a £50k car sitting in the garage most of the week, no also! So I'm changing around the motors in the household, in comes a 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE to be the family runabout and hopefully later in the year I'll be upgrading the current runabout into a Jaguar XK.

I've driven 6000miles and loved every one of them. Yes, the ride is a little crashy over the awful UK roads and for such a large car, it is quite small inside and yes it weighs a fair few tonnes, but what LR have done with the new model is create a perfect blend of sporting, family luxury. The Freelander's interior is like my ole Disco 3 inside, which is a shame, an update is rumoured for the autumn, but then I guess the LRX will be out soon after and I'll get an itchy cheque book again.

I will soon have the full LR OEM rubber mat set for sale, including the boot liner if anyone is interested. I'll pop a thread in the FS area.

As an aside, if anyone is after a 2010MY RRS HSE, mine will be traded next week. I am confident you will not find a more pristine pre-owned car (aside a kerbed alloy by the missus!). I have kept it zaino'd and garaged at all times. The interior is immaculate. I'd prefer it to have a worthy owner, so let me know and I'll get you in contact with the dealer selling my car.

Well my beautiful RRS has gone. In it's place I have the FL2 HSE.

I'm not missing the Sport at all, honestly!

. The FL2 is so much more comfortable to sit in, it is as quiet, smooth and has a very pokey little 2.2D and a great 6 speed auto'box. The ride over the bumps on my 18's is like a carpet compared to the crashy Sport. Shame that it feels like my ole Disco3 inside, facelift due in September, and it doesn't look anywhere near as hot on the road, but I'm well happy.

Would I buy another RRS, well if I win the lotto yes, but it would be the 5.0ltr. As it goes, there is too much else to try, LRX next and a new FFRR when that comes in a couple years.....

Whoever buys RV59UBT, you will have one awesome car. Thanks to Stratstones once again for taking more cash off me! :rolllaugh:

I lost less than £2k in 8 months ownership, once I get the rebate from my tax disc through! Not too bad me thinks. Lost that in about a week with my last XKR!
