Gordon, is that a Tunit box? I've been looking at those and would be interested in your impressions when you fit it.

It's a Spider tuning box - has a couple of adjustable parameters via jumper pegs.

v6 will never get near the torque of the V8 and when the v8 is tuned !!

Its Torque that shifts a 2.5 tonne motor not just BHP

I have a chip (tuning box) to fit to my 2010 TDV6 - I haven't as yet as I haven't run it in yet, but it claims to boost torque to 690 NM, which is more than the std TDV8.

Cheers,

Gordon

Agh Tunit type box been there done it never again over boosts, engine cuts a mare . DMS or proper other tune only for me. 2014 5.0SC AB

My remap is not long away now, it was ready but then LR decided to make a software update to all the cars for the poor performance issues some people are having so it was 2 months wasted and i had to start again Sad

Just a few final temprature and emmisions related tests to finalise and im done.

Well I've had the Spider Tuning box fitted for a week now to my 2010 3.0L TDV6, so impressions are ...

It's _very_ quick Shocked

The power delivery just rockets on through the rev range. The box has a couple of adjustable parameters, but as is from the factory, no black smoke, no "engine failure", just an awful lot of usable power. The box claims torque of 690 NM and power of 200Kw. It's hard to judge subjectively, but that seems about right.

I now have the fuel consumption of a TDV8 however Sad - although this might be more a function of my suddenly gaining weight in my right foot .....

One thing with the boxes is that the boost is available across all the terrain response maps, making 'sand mode' a real dune killer Twisted Evil

200Kw = 268.2044Bhp so a gain of 23bhp and 90Nm.
