Steering Wheel Buttons Gone Haywire...

I've just returned from a very enjoyable 1 week family holiday in Scotland during which the RRS behaved faultlessly and averaged 29mpg over almost 1,500 miles of varied driving with family and luggage.
However, on the way back, the cruise control kept turning off and wouldn't turn on again. This could only be fixed by pulling over and turning the ignition off and on again. But each time the cruise would work for a shorter period before turning itself off. Mad
Also, whilst trying to turn down the stereo, the system would try to dial a number on my Bluetooth phone Confused If I kept pressing the + or - buttons, it would do all sorts of weird things, like changing to CD or changing the radio channel. Very strange !!
Anyone else experienced the same thing ?

Paul

I experienced the cruise control playing up then not working at all. When it went in for a service, I told the dealer about it, but I had no feedback from them on this problem. I think they hoped a software upgrade would fix it. It was okay after that, but then I only used it a few times before I sold the car, so never really had a change to prove itself. Matt

Yugoslavia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I've had this happen to me The symptoms were identical and the solution also involved stopping and switching off and on the ignition. My cruise control then started doing something else, it would work fine when setting the speed or accelerating, but as soon as you tried to decellerate, it would switch off completely. This appears to be a recognised fault and my dealer/service has ordered new switchgear for the wheel which he says will solve the problem. RRS TDV6 (gone)
RRS TDV8 HSE(gone, burned out)

Cruise control problems have been posted before.

I think it may have been MDP (Sorry MDP if it wasn't you!) who was driving on cruise control when it cut all power to the car in the right hand lane of the motorway. I think it did it a few times and was by all accounts a scary experience.

I thought it was Kam who had the major problems with cruise control. Wasn't that the reason he ended up driving the Volvo for best part of a week Question Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Mine didn't lose power, it simply lost the cruise control, so there wasn't the possible danger that Kam experienced.

It's going in tomorrow to have a list of niggles looked at so I'll hopefully get it looked at then.

Thanks,
Paul
