Removeing the gear stick top to acces the gear select module

Hi Guys,

Just trying to solve a problem with a HSE sport, basically the dealer service enginner could not remove the knob on the top of the gearstick to acces the gear select module to reset a fault sensor and he said I need to take it to overfinch to get them to remove it with a special tool.

However overfinch tell me you just give it a good yank same as any other Sport. Can any one help me with this?

Cheers Bradders,

just been speaking to an independent 4 x 4 speacialist and seems to think the is no need to remove the knob to reset the handbrake sensor as the dealership have indicated.

Can anyone confirm if ths is the case and any options if i cant yank it off as i would presume that the mechaics in Land Rover tried to muscle it off.

Thanks

Tim

The handbrake is not working, initially the handbrake was working and the yet the light was showing a fault.

Now its failed its MOT and I cant take it to the dealer to get sorted as they say they have to remove the gear stick knob which they cant.

Thanks

Tim

Just swapped out my gear knob a few weeks back. it needs a good yank, make sure its horizontal (remove from park), avoid ur chin, and give it a good smooth tug Whistle
