I love doing it, I have spent 10 hours in one day a couple of weeks ago......and I won't let any car wash near it, or even when in for a service - they are not allowed to clean it. Even though somone will kill me for saying this - I was watching a brand new RRS being prepped the other day, and it had swirls on it even before the customer got it. I would send a detailer to the garage before I ever took delivery of a new car now.......

Bradders, I would really love to get my bonnett painted and have all the chips taken away - but would only do it if I could get the front clear wrapped to stop any major chips etc......I get my front bumper done every 2 months now and wing mirrors too....

I think, only think, I have the best looked after 3 1/2 year old car! Even with 53K miles on it, I look back sometimes (when you're walking away from it - you know we do it!!) and think it looks brand new......

lol im like that with mine, never let a dodgy car wash or automatic wash thing near any of my cars, when i owned the focus i would take the day of work before any car show and pretty much strip her out and clean every inch of her, before a massive car show at santa pod in 2007 i started cleaning her at 6am and didnt finish till 11pm that night.
im lucy in a way my family business has a bodyshop so i spent most of my youth learning how to get paint finishes like glass.

My biggest problem is that I don;t have my own drive, so I have to clean the car when parked up on the street - I am thinking about aksing someone if I can use their driveway for £20 a time just to spend all day without having to worry about cars killing me as they drive by.....perils of living in London I guess.

Every panel on my car - I would love to get sprayed - in fact I would like to get the whole car done, but kinda silly really - it's just I want every panel perfect!

Going to get my wheels powder coated and stripped in the next few days

Ok

I also join you as a wash /detailing nut, and get lots of comments like 'oh you washing the car again' !

But it does work, when a lot of people ask you if its new ....... Cool

For rainy days - I have a few bikes, that get obsessively cleaned Very Happy

Keep up the good work - you are not alone Wink

Hey Buster, how's it going mate, and how are you getting on with your TDV8? Have you still got the lovely SLK AMG?

Be good to see you at the meet on May 1st if you can make it....

Hi NickM, Yep loving the TDV8 went to London today and was cruising quite happily at 85+, but most of all I just love the torque - its amazing ! Very Happy

The Merc is now sold, and to be honest I dont miss it a lot

I might be taken for the May meet, as weather permitting I might take the bike to Hastings, which is always good fun (if youre on a bike !) but if the forecast isnt brilliant then I might try and get to the meet - fair weather riders eh Whistle
