SWMBO has just told me her work are allowing a valet company that use just "foamy chemicals" to clean the car but no water. She reckoned that this would leave the dreaded swirl marks etc (she does listen sometimes then ) etc on the paintwork.

Personally I wouldn't have my car cleaned at her work as half the yard is just dry earth and the dust swirling about with lorries coming and going would make trying to clean a car a nightmare IMHO.

Anybody else come across something similar with the water-less cleaning?? Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

I used this sort of service when the work adjacent to me sprayed something over all our cars. My car then was silver but it was a brilliant job and no swirls. Cant remeber the name though. Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!

There is a product on detailingworld forum that gets good reviews, called something like Optima No Rinse (ONR)

personally I'm still to be convinced this doesn't produce swirls, the caravan club reception has something similar on the site I'm at now, and regular adverts in it's mags for Miricle drywash

what ever they are called I think they'll be suitable for a quick wash down of a lightly solied car but not a full cleandown after a days off roading

seen a lovely looking White RRS in site, a disco 4 and there's about 5 FL2's which must be the car of choice for a caravaners

I always get confused when i see 50K plus cars towing a caravan - can't they afford to stay in nice hotels? Let the onslaught begin...I just don't get it though....why oh why???

Nick M I hate to admit this but 13 yrs ago you could have spotted me & my then Disco towing all sorts of them. One reason for a half decent motor to pull 1
