Anyonee own a Lotus Elise?

Guys - I am considering buying a run around for the summer/nice days and am looking seriously at an Elise S. I was wondering if anyone on this trusted site has gone down the same route and what they think of the combination of cars?

I fancy a white one with black roof, interior and wheels...

I was going to get 2nd hand but the wife has just said "Why don't you get a new one?" - good question - I think i will!!

Any input gratefully received as always.

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

Hi Mate

Ideally I'd like a 57 plate or earlier white elise s. What should I be looking out for when I buy one? What are the common faults on them that would be obvious if I was buying a RRS because I have owned one for three years? Are there any good forums for owners?
If I buy new what would you say I should get as options?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers

Their great cars, not much to them so not much goes wrong especially with the Toyota engines.

If buying second hand ensure theres been no accidents or serious kerbing - the geometry is crucial. The earlier cars i.e.pre 08my had no air bags and air con was optional. Some consider the earlier cars the best as they were lighter and more in keeping with a Lotus but later cars had more power.

Which ever one you chose you cant help driving round with a grin on your face and if you live nearby a track -Lotus on Track organise some great track days http://www.lotus-on-track.com/

Gentlemen (and Ladies I suppose) - I have now put down my cash on the following

By pure chance (or call me naive...) this model was only launched on the 1st April - I wanted a 2010 white lotus elise touring with a few options - JCT600 by chance had one delivered - they weren't expecting it.....I came in on the day it was delivered - still in the back car park to be prepared for sale - luck - or am I a mug?

I think I have just found my new summer car!

Happy Days

Yep and Yep - well kind of. As usual I upsold myself with the pack they put on for leather, aircon, and a few other nice bits - also they will be black wheels when I pick it up. It's the new 2010 shape and is white so ticks those boxes!

Very happy chappy!

Sill love the RR though - the Lotus will just be for those sunny days. Jaguar XKR Convertible
