United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Sumatra Black
MY10 Brakes

Have noticed on a few occassions that when pressing the brake pedal there is lack of resistance (almost as though there is slack on a cable ) yet other times the response is immediate? There is no pattern to this but is more prominant on first few brakings after start up. I believe there was an issue with some 2.7D cars but mine is the new 3L engine. Anyone had similar issues or aware if this is a known fault before I get on to the dealer (again!). Car has done 5k miles.

Funnily enough I have been away on hols for last week and done a fair bit of driving in the RRS and I have noticed exactly the same issue. It can be at any time, sometimes when car is cold and just started but also when it has been running for long distance and is at normal operating temps. You press the brakes and it almost feels like there is no resistance and then it bites. My car is going into the dealer for some minor work
on Tuesday so I will be mentioning it to them then. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

me too. After the last re map they worked brilliantly but have now reverted to type with poor feel and a disconcerting lack of bite at the top of the pedal...i did mention this on my last post but no one else raised a concern so thanks for flagging it, now i know its not just me! My 2010MY RRS 3.0 TDV6SE is Nara Bronze with Almond leather, straight grain walnut trim, 20" 15 spoke alloy's, mood lighting and power fold mirrors Gone

Some feedback on this. I mentioned it to my dealer (Town & County Aberdeen) when my car was in today. They checked the error logs and they were clear but they have said that as it is a brake issue they don't want to take any chances and have logged a Technical Query with Land Rover. If LR get several of these on the same issue they will then look into it. So, maybe you should ask your Dealers to do the same. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

due to lack of a courtesy car, i am now booked in for 10th May at Marshalls Peterborough for a comprehensive review of the brakes. I will feedback what has been done and to what effect. That aside and 9,000 miles later, all is very well with my MY2010 Very Happy My 2010MY RRS 3.0 TDV6SE is Nara Bronze with Almond leather, straight grain walnut trim, 20" 15 spoke alloy's, mood lighting and power fold mirrors Gone

UPDATE - It's now been 2 weeks since Town & County had my car in and bled & Re-filled the brakes. Since then
I have not had a recurrence of the brake issue. Although it was intermitant, I would normally have had it happen within this timescale. So hopefully it looks like it's fixed Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
