Finally jumping aboard the rrs ship...

I say finally, after months of ooing and ahring by my employers, they have finally decided to get me a company car. I being the fine individual that I am have opted for a Range rover sport.

They were initially going to get me one on contract hire, I was jubilant at this prospect as I would have got a my2010 hse but this plan was scrapped and I've now been told the car will be purchased outright and will be a 2.7 hse, roughly 07'/57' plate in black.

I was hoping you lot could assist me in a few questions for a newbie like me;

1. Is it worth asking the dealership to fit on privacy glass & side steps (if the car purchased doesn't have these options) to the vehicle or can this be done for a cheaper price elsewhere?

2. Can you connect your iphone 3gs to a 2007 model rrs?

3. In terms of supercharged grills and side vents, is this something the dealer can uprade or once again is it best done afterwards?

4. Can the sat nav be upgraded from the 2007 model to the 2010 model?

Thanks

I'm sure you'll know already, but Remember the company car tax is calculated on cost new, not the cost it was bought at

so you'll be pay tax at my2010 prices (well the my2007 prices) but been in a 07 plate

could you not opt out and PCP a my2010, claim business mileage etc paying less tax too towards running costs

sure forum member KAM100 might be able to put some cost options together

Welcome on board

Someone far more knowledgeable than me will answer your queries in detail however if I was you I would add all those mods myself after purchase. Things like privacy can be done by loads of people, new grilles and side steps can be bought off here, your only problem will be sat nav but mine is a 2007 and i don't have any problems...

Good luck and enjoy!

I did think of this option also but they want to go down their own route so I guess I will have to settle for a 2007 model. Can someone assist with the queries please or shall I post them in another section of the forum?

Hi

Im quite new to the forum so nice to see new people all the time.
What sort of price are you looking to pay, although by your mail you may have already found one.

1. privacy Glass is about £250.00 But do some research as you want a good fitter.
side steps are easy to fit yourself. ( if your quite handy with the odd hand tool )
2. I have an Iphone 3GS and mine works fine both incoming and outgoing calls
3. Fleabay is great for all your Grills and vents and again really easy to fit yourself.
4. Sat nav is great on the 07 plate you can again get the updated disc on Fleabay.

i hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.

In regards to the iphone that you have connected, is this hooked up so you can play your music straight off your iphone into the car speakers?

Thanks

Hi
i havent done it on mine. you can do buy connecting to the auxiliary port behind the centre console.
you will still have to connect the phone via blue tooth to the car.

Hope this Helps.

My car is for sale at the moment if your interested then PM me.[/b] 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR
