stoned windshield

Last night while driving on the highway heard a loud bang, something, probably a stone, hit the windshield

Today inspecting it I found this Sad

Will take to the dealer tomorrow, insurance should cover it.
Anything special I should be aware/to check about the replacement job?

thanks '08 RRS TDV8

IME in the UK - bigger than a pound coin (22mm) is not repairable - only due to the size of the vacuum pump adapter IIRC ..... Censored 's

Last RRS had about 4 screens Big Cry

If you have a refit - check they use new external A pillar covers and clips to avoid them unseating and allowing water ingress... Also check the internal covers are refitted correctly - view from the outside and you should not see behind the internal cover (airbag labels and wires)

Thumbs Up

dont know if there is a scientific reason, but rarely ever had a chipped or cracked windscreen in any car, however in MY06 had 3 replacements over 3 years. purple people eater

Same with me - never had any issues with other cars (9 so far). But, the first stone that hit the RRS (MY09) after one month driving resulted in a big crack ... Evil or Very Mad

In previous discussions the angle of the screen has been propsed as potential reasoning

It's best not knowing what the face looks like, we are likely to be disappointed! So many women out there with great bods, but you wouldn't look at them because of the face!
