Well worth going somewhere that's safe, minimal risk to the car and also where help is at in if you did get stuck! WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Hi Russ

You could try this place http://www.whaddon4x4mx.co.uk/ I have been there several times in my offroad Disco, there are a variety of routes you can take depending on the depth of your pocket and your nerves Exclamation Great fun though.

Jim

Whaddon Shocked let me know when you're going so I can try to arrange to be there in my 90 to recover you. It's no place for a RRS unless it's dry as a bone.

Drop RRSBoy a PM as he's in London and takes his TDV8 off road. He's been to Sailsbury Plain and Wales in his with us.

James Thumbs Up

Russ

You could try the Land Rover 'Self Drive' events, we did one at Eastnor on Saturday and I have to say, having read a few things to the contrary that put me off slightly, we ended up having a great time. 12 cars in convoy with 3 LRE cars / 5 instructors, all for the princely sum of £69. I'd not expected much of it for that, but it was great, the highlight had to be the water runs towards the end, gave it a proper dunking Thumbs Up

Very Happy

I can confirm that the door seals worked a treat, unlike those on the Defenders in the group Laughing

They had a pro photographer along for the day as well, some of the shots he's taken of us are brilliant, can't wait for those to arrive. Well, the wife certainly wants the one of our RRS with the headlights underwater !! Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Dead easy, just ring Eastnor and ask them when the next self drive event is going to be, as I recall they run them every 3 months or whenever demand is enough. They have a facebook webpage as well where they list up 40% off offers which are sometimes worth having.

http://www.landrover.com/experien/en/eastnor/welcome.htm

Even though I've done some offroad training before and am often offroad with work, I still found it a really enjoyable and educational trip. Certainly found a few things out about my RRS that I'd never have known about otherwise. Every car has a 2 way radio dropped in for them to talk to you about what settings are needed / tactics etc or for you to tell them / everyone else that you're stuck. Like I had to. Laughing

Great bunch of blokes Thumbs Up Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.
