It's hard to imagine what the noise sounds like - maybe pop it into a dealer for peace of mind, they won't charge you to tell you what the problem may be..and perhaps give you a quote if anything wrong...

I have the exact same problem on my 2.7. I have never noticed it before, however my aircon has recently stopped working so I have been driving with the window down. I have noticed it more over the last few days. Its not a knock, as you said it sounds like a petrol engine that is to far advanced or retarded. Its A pinking sound like a small marble in a glass jar under load. I personally would not worry about it. I have done the research and it appears to be very common in the 2.7. yet it is very annoying. PS I must add. the pinking is not as loud when premium fuel is used. I suspect it could be low quality fuel etc. |
