2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Newbie - Tow Bar questions

Hello, first post on here.

We have just bought a black 05 TDV6 HSE to replace our 08 Navara outlaw. We will use the car to tow our track cars so need to know about tow bars.

Do these removable ones work as they make out? They just fit into the bit under the latch in the rear bumper? and the (twin) electric points are under there too (we dont have the car yet - first week in April)

How do they secure?! Are they safe enough to tow a 1.3t car and twin axle trailer (combined 2t)?

any help appreciated.

welcome to the forum.

as simple as you wish it will be. you just stick it in, turn the key and take the key out. that's it. it is secured with a small key, which can be taken out only once the tow bar is securely fit.
the electrics do not come standard on the car, so if you do not have it installed you need to fit that in. My name: Patryk

I'm sure it had the sockets... are you saying they may not be wired?

They are rated to tow 3.5tonnes - so 2t is no problem.

towed the white carbunkle 1000's of miles all over the country, towbar very secure and easy to fit and remove, just keep it greased and locks WD40'd. Electrics sit neatly behind bumper cover, trust they are connected if there. Good luck purple people eater
