Just to through confusion in the pot too there is the 3 hour crossing from Stranraer to Belfast which a lot of the Irish truck drivers use. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

..... & a motorway pretty much the whole way down from Belfast to within about 30 miles of your destination. The last 30 miles being on a fairly decent A road, as you would describe them over there Wink

So all in all, not a bad journey at all down from Belfast.
