Private Number Plate

OK I have decided against an expensive private reg and buying it through the company. The one I was looking at was 2 numbers 2 letters for 8K.

I now want to buy one personally, not spend too much, about £1500. Where is the best place to buy one? Just want to make the car dateless, maybe slip in my initials and not just be one of the £250 jobbies like W200 JON for example.

Obviously I know about regtransfers.co.uk and all thouse and the DVLA site. Any other hidden secrets from past purchasers?

Where do you get the plates that are 4 numbers and 2 letters?

I would always buy from the DVLA website mate - I think there is a transfer fee which all the others charges - whereas DVLA include this in the price - so I would stick with them - really easy process too. I would thinking again about buying 1 MU though! Laughing

There's something about those DVLA auctions, several times I have placed a remote bid and always get outbid by exactly £50 (the minimum increment) i'm sure this is the big plate companies buying up any plates that seem too cheap.

For example, imagine if plate 33 SH comes up.....you are the only person interested with initials SH, you bid £4000, it goes for £4050! This has happened several times to me, Im sure this will be a company thinking, some other SH will pay more for that if I stick it on my website.

I got my plate last year from the auction, registered as a phone buyer and they called me a couple of minutes before the listing.
Was dead easy and I got my plate really cheap.....'DPS 13' for less than 3K.

Certainly the best place to start in my book!
