Don't know if anybody spotted an article in this weeks 'Auto Express', but a company has brought out a protector for wheels that apparently stop damage from kerbing...........which with RRS wheels is a continual problem.

I think there's a couple of these on the market now. Good idea, but no clue how well they work...

Looks like a good idea but I wonder how they stand up to wheel cleaning chemicals such as wonder wheels etc. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Hi Gary, We have tested these vigousouly both on road and tracks (Bruntingthorpe) to date they have remained in place during driving. If they are fitted correctly I cannot see that they would dislocate at any point. We have barbs on the Gators that grip into the tyre to prevent any movment. I'm not saying that it couldnt happen by some remote chance, its just not happened to date with all the testing we have been doing over the years. Hope this answers your question. It would be good to here from some RR owners close to the Birmingham, Redditch area that would like to have a set fitted for trial. Cheers Curt |

Excellent news, the set I ordered on Friday are on my desk, unfortunately, much as though I would prefer Alloy Gator to fit them and photograph the process for this site, I'm 120 miles away from B'rum.
