MY10 self locking fault?

Had a good scare this morning. Wife was out and about and got back to the RRS - put the baby in her seat in the back and her handbag with the RRS key in the passenger footwell before wandering around to the drivers door and finding the vehicle had locked itself with the baby inside and she couldn't get in - she could see the key fob in her bag in the passenger footwell!

Very luckily a family member was close by and managed to get the spare key there fairly quickly which solved the problem. Now I seem to remember it says in the manual it is impossible to lock the key in the car - it is even touted as a safety feature. Is this another fault or have I got this wrong - by the way the car locked itself somehow?

That would be impressive - she is 4 months old and her arms aren't long enough to reach the lock when strapped in the baby seat even if she did have the required motor skills! Even then with the RFID tag in the car you should able to unlock the doors as normal. I suspect the car was locked by an inadvertant push of the door handle lock button... but even so the RFID tag should have alowed it to unlock again.

I have just pulled some SmartKey issues off GTR... guess what, there is a software update. There also seems to be a 'Land Rover Assurance Programme' with dealers being asked to send out letters to RRS/D4 owners this week and next to get the cars in to do a number of software updates and in some cases a couple of part replacements on certain vehicles. It looks a bit like 'Service Pack 1' for the RRS OS. Nice that LR have got around to doing this and should hopefully solve many of the niggling 'new model' related problems.

I wonder when all us new owners get our fee for doing their Beta testing on the new model? Mad
