The LR kit uses the iPod screen but you can forward tracks and adjust the volume from the steering wheel. It also charges it, but you certainly have to remove the iPod if you're not in the car. It is situated just to the right of the steering wheel. .

The alternatives are few, stuff such as HK's drive + play looks a bit more elegant perhaps, but you will still have another monitor somewhere to allow for iPod navigation. The long promised Nav-TV interface that was supposedly going to allow iPod navigation via the radio LCD or satnav monitor never materialized. |

I thought that Alpine KCE-425i module plus the LR interface fit the bill. With this combo supposedly you have Ipod navigation through the Navi screen of your RRS.

If you like cheap, and don't mind the fact it doesn't charge the latest ipods, then the original HK Drive + Play is the equivalent of 5 gallons of fuel. No association with seller; just a satisfied customer. |
