MINI,s are the same -no spare and provided with inflation kit in the event of a puncture. SWMBO has just ordered one and we have specified run flats but these are extra. I don't want to see her stranded and at least with run flats you can drive about 100 miles. Seems MINI,s used to come standard with run flats if you specified larger wheels but now extra -another hidden way of increasing cost. It is possible to have a spare slung under car but again its extra. I totally agree with MUFFD its a ridiculous situation- save a few quid and make more profit typical BMW

It's the way a lot of car mfrs do it these days. I've been hit by this myself, went over a big pothole once in my 535d and it actually cracked the front n/s rim in two. I'd forgotten it came on runflats and merrily went to change the wheel only to find the can of repair gunk which was of no use to me in that situation either.

I just called out BMW ES and they sorted it all for me... it is pretty standard, and although I agree it's not perfect for all (or even most) situations, I'm not sure I know why you're quite so upset about it? Very Happy
