Am I right in thinking there is nothing stopping me buying a Private Reg through my company and allocating as a company asset?

You'd cop the insurance money and put the plate back on retention? I hope not to find out! John |

thing is the plate would be my initials, nothing like the company name etc.....and it is quite a few quid (8k), hence why I want to put it through the company.

You don't insure the plate do you? Mine is not insured. When you sell the car you put it on retention, I am not 100% sure, but surely it would go on retention in the event of a total loss claim. John |

Jonny, I like your style! It depends on what sort of relationship you have with your Accountant. Perhaps persuade them it is an investment, after all they seem to go up in value. Good luck! John |
