Kaine, I looked into LED's before but on many reviews I read they said they didnt last that long. Are these Deltech ones the ones to go for / better ones? |

the internal LED drivers tend to fail before the LED itself (hence the manufacturers quoting 100,000 hours for the LED - thats probably correct). The reason I tend to recommend Deltech is we've been replacing dead LED bulbs with these recently (over the last 18months really) and nto found one thats failed yet.

How good a replacement for a 20W halogen, in a landscape lighting situation do you think they would be. ?
i wouldn't be going the LED to save money & most certainly not from a Co2 point of view, the whole GW thing is a load of codswallop IMO It would be more from a load reduction stand point. Running up a couple of dozen 5w LEDS compared to 20W halogens offers a reduction in load. |

that's a good point actually for me as the landing light with 4 x Gu10 in can be in most of the night especially if our lad is have trouble sleeping as he won't have a light on in his bedroom but wants the landing light on, his bedroom also downlighters in with GU10 so that's another reason due heatbuild up too |

Kaine, have just changed all 4 of my GU10 Halogens for Deltech GU10-M7W 5watt Coolwhite LEDs, a little disappointed with the light level, the angle seems to be quite narrow, can you get wider angled ones and would the warm white be dimmer than cool white?
